NRI Bride Guide

How a Virtual Bridal Consultation with a Delhi Designer Works

Time-zone-friendly video calls, digital moodboards and live fabric review — the modern way NRI brides commission bespoke Indian bridal couture.

    Step-by-Step

    The step-by-step process

A practical walk-through refined over a decade of dressing NRI brides.

    1. 1

      Send your enquiry

Fill the consultation form with your wedding date, city, Instagram handle and 2–3 reference images. We reply within 24 hours with available slots.

    2. 2

      Pick your slot

Choose a 45-minute window in your local time zone. Late-evening for USA/Canada, evening for UK/Europe, weekend morning for Australia, daytime for UAE/Singapore.

    3. 3

      Pre-call brief

Two days before the call we send a short brief asking your function flow (sangeet, mehendi, wedding, reception), budget, mood and any heirloom pieces you want incorporated.

    4. 4

      The 45-minute call

Nidhi joins from the Delhi atelier with fabric and embroidery samples on hand. We review your references, sketch on screen and discuss silhouette, colour and timeline.

    5. 5

      Moodboard within 7 days

You receive a personal PDF moodboard with hand-drawn sketches, fabric direction, colour palette, embroidery samples and a transparent quote in your local currency.

    6. 6

      Decide in your own time

No pressure. Read the moodboard, discuss with family. If you book, the moodboard becomes your design brief. If not, the conversation ends warmly.

    Why a virtual consultation works

Ten years ago a virtual bridal consultation was a compromise. Today it's how 60% of our NRI brides commission their lehenga — and many bridal-couture decisions are actually clearer over video than in a busy showroom.

On a focused 45-minute Zoom you have Nidhi's full attention, screen-shareable references, and the ability to compare fabric swatches under your own daylight. There's no pressure from junior salespeople, no walking past distracting racks, and no jet lag.

    What to prepare

Before the call, gather: 2–3 lehenga reference images (Pinterest screenshots are perfect), 1–2 colour palette inspirations, your wedding date and venue type, the function flow (which outfits for which event), and a rough budget band — even a wide one helps us guide you to the right design tier.

If you have an heirloom piece

Many NRI brides want to integrate a mother's or grandmother's saree, dupatta or jewellery into their bridal look. Bring these to the call on camera — we'll discuss whether to deconstruct, panel-insert or simply complement them with the new design.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the virtual consultation really free?

Yes — no charge, no booking deposit, no card on file. We invest the time because most brides who do a thorough consultation eventually commission their wardrobe with us. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you on the call.

What if I want a second opinion before booking?

Absolutely fine. The moodboard is yours to keep. Many brides send it to family or friends for input before deciding. We follow up gently after 14 days, never pushy.

Can my mother or sister join the call?

Yes, please do. Multi-participant Zoom or WhatsApp is welcome — many of our calls include the bride in the USA, mother in Delhi and sister in London.

Can I do an in-person consultation instead?

Of course. If you're visiting Delhi, we'll block a 90-minute appointment at our Friends Colony East atelier with full fabric and embroidery sampling. Many brides do one virtual call followed by an in-person visit.

    What software do I need?

Just Zoom or WhatsApp video — both work on any phone or laptop. We send the link 24 hours before your call.
